White Band Day II, September 10th, 2005 was less successful in gaining public notice than White Band Day I. GCAP’s work at the UN Millennium +5 Summit met with a series of problems even though the UN Working Group effectively operated as a team. For reasons beyond their control, the planned mass mobilization of a coalition of trade unions and other organizations as well as a concert and a demonstration in New York City’s Central Park failed to materialise. However, even though White Band Day II was not as vital as expected, there were major activities in 75 other countries around the world.
