Millennium Declaration
This document was signed on September 8th, 2000. It was an ambitious set of goals calling for member nations to strive to achieve them by the year 2015.
The Millennium Campaign
The Millennium Campaign informs, inspires and encourages people’s involvement and action for the realization of the Millennium Development Goals. An initiative of the United Nations, the Campaign supports citizens’ efforts to hold their government to account for the Millennium promise.
The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) adopted by world leaders in 2000 provided an initial framework for action, setting forth limited and time bound targets in 8 areas to be achieved by 2015.

In 1970, 22 of the world’s richest countries pledged to spend 0.7% of their national income on aid. Now, over 3 decades later, only 5 countries have kept that promise.

Debt relief is the partial or total forgiveness of debt, or the slowing or stopping of debt growth, owed by individuals, corporations, or nations.

Shadow Reports are a method for Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to supplement or present alternative information to the periodic government reports State parties are required to submit under international treaties.

The International Monetary Fund describes itself as: “an organization of 184 countries, working to foster global monetary cooperation, secure financial stability, facilitate international trade, promote high employment and sustainable economic growth, and reduce poverty.”
